Metro Water Recovery elects new officers
DENVER — The Metro Water Recovery Board of Directors elected new officers on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at its regular monthly meeting.
Each member is appointed to a one-year term.
Sarah Niyork is the new chair. She represents the South Adams County Water & Sanitation District and is the district’s accountant. Niyork has served on the board since 2019.
Marena Lertch is the chair pro tem. She represents the City of Aurora and is a deputy director of water field services for the city. Lertch has served on the board since 2023.
Del Smith is the secretary. He represents the Bancroft Clover Water and Sanitation District. Smith is a water resources engineer for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and has served on the board since 2018.
Janet Kieler is the treasurer. She represents the City and County of Denver and has served on the board since 2018. Kieler is the director of environmental programs at Denver International Airport.
