Harnessing the Power of Data at Metro Water Recovery

Wastewater treatment plants around the world are utilizing the power of data to reduce costs and improve operations. However, working with data at large organizations like Metro Water Recovery presents numerous challenges. Employees in different departments may not be aware of what data is available or what calculations are being performed across the organization. This can result in duplicate efforts or failures to […]

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work at NTP

Quite literally, without the expertise of our employees who serve in the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Departments, our services would not run. Without their extensive knowledge of systems, processes, technology and the plant sites, there would be a lot of waste left in our water. We’re talking knowledge of pumps, deep wells, gates, valves, lift […]

We’re proud of the nearly 40 Veteran employees working toward our mission of protecting the region’s health and environment by cleaning water and recovering resources. The value they bring to our organization touches […]

Struvite Is History

Thursday, August 26, 2021, was a day for the Metro Water Recovery history books as we transferred our first load of phosphorus-rich struvite to A1 Organics, a local composting company. This load of struvite totaled around 23 tons of magnesium ammonium phosphate recovered directly from the treatment process at the Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility (RWHTF) downstream of Denver.  Major Achievement Sending struvite to A1 Organics achieves a milestone and major goal of our Phosphorus Initiative â€“ to recover phosphorus from the […]

First Flows in New Delgany Interceptor Section

Metro Water Recovery made history this year as we completed replacing 2,300 feet of the some of the oldest pipe in our Transmission System.   Located at the National Western Center site, this section of the Delgany Interceptor system was moved underground and began sending flows to the Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility in May. This project is significant for three reasons, […]
